A panel titled “Stratcom Public Forum: A Fairer World is Possible” was held in The Hague, the administrative capital of the Netherlands, jointly organised by the Directorate of Communications and the Embassy of Türkiye in The Hague.

The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including Selçuk Ünal, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to The Hague; Omaima Mahmoud Ahmed Alsharief, Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires in The Hague; and Nikolaos van Dam, former Dutch Ambassador to Ankara. Also in attendance were counsellors and members of the diplomatic corps, international officials, academics, journalists, and other distinguished guests.

Throughout the panel, speakers emphasised the urgent need to reform international institutions to create a more equitable global order. In particular, Alberto Turkstra, Project Director at Diplomatic World, noted that the current United Nations system is no longer equipped to effectively address the complex and evolving challenges of the 21st century. His remarks echoed a broader consensus among participants that the existing multilateral frameworks require meaningful transformation to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and global responsiveness in today’s interconnected world.
