The Academy is a program designed to engage diplomacy, society, and the business community at large, helping them prepare for the challenges posed by so-called deep tech. These transformative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, and quantum computing are profoundly reshaping our lives, causing uncertainty across broad segments of society, and doing so at an accelerating pace. The goal of this curriculum is to weigh opportunities against risks while providing strategies for building innovation resilience, both on an individual and societal level. DWI collaborates closely with international partners, including the Institute for Science, Entrepreneurship and Investments (SEI) in Washington, D.C., founded by internationally recognized deep-tech diplomacy expert Dr. Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes, and the Global Academy for Law Tech, Education & Research (GALTER) in Hyderabad, founded by esteemed law professor Dr. Mahendra Bhandari. The initiative was launched by DWI co-founder and innovation strategist Dieter Brockmeyer.
A 10-week pilot course, Deep Tech, Law & Diplomacy, held from January to March 2025, was successfully completed. Aimed at young diplomats, the program featured 10 modules, each led by an international subject-matter expert, and explored how diplomacy is evolving in response to emerging technologies, as well as strategies to address risks such as disinformation. Following a review of the pilot’s outcomes, we are now in the process of expanding our offerings, with new programs.
