BUCAHREST 26 MAY – JCI EUROPEAN CONFERENCE 2023
BUCHAREST – Baybars Altuntas, Executive Chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum and the 7th JCI Ambassador will deliver a keynote speech for the JCI European Conference Business Summit, 26 May, Bucharest, Romania.
Junior Chamber International (JCI)
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a non-profit international non governmental organization of young people between 18 and 40 years old. It has around 200.000 members in about 124 countries, most of which have regional or national organizations. The first local Junior Chamber chapter was founded in 1915, but the international umbrella organization, Junior Chamber International, was founded in Mexico in 1944. It has consultative status with the Council of Europe, with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and with UNESCO. It encourages young people to become active citizens and to participate in efforts towards social and economic development, and international cooperation, good will, and understanding.
JCI has recognized Baybars Altuntas as the 7th JCI Ambassador at a ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters after his keynote speech on angel investment at the JCI Global Partnership Summit on the 29th of July, 2015 in New York.
JCI Ambassadors are individuals who have made outstanding political, business, cultural, scientific or social contributions and who reflect the JCI philosophy and mission to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. A sterling example is UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, whose appointment is the latest in the series of JCI ambassador appointments prior to that of Altuntas.
