- It aims to improve the availability of high-quality learning opportunities for adults by creating a digital platform.
- This Erasmus+ project has a budget of 250.000 euros for a period of 24 months.
- The main objective of the European project LIVAI is how to approach data and technology from an ethical perspective, within a certification framework that guarantees standard types for all methods of learning and work.
Artificial Intelligence constitutes a ground-breaking suite of technologies with the potential to have a profound effect on all aspects of human existence. Its importance is escalating rapidly, in terms not only of the cutting-edge innovations being made but also of the prominence it has gained in public debates. The development of large language models (LLMs) -in particular, since the launch of ChatGPT at the end of 2022– has acted as a catalyst for both innovation and competition among the main AI players, positioning AI technology as a veritable "game changer" in many aspects of our daily life. Moreover, given its general-purpose nature, AI can have a transversal impact on all sectors, and it's expected to play a critical role in the Twin- green and digital – Transition and in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
This project focuses on how technology and data should be approached from an ethical perspective, within a certification framework that guarantees standard types for all methods of learning and work. The Commission has also presented a Digital Education Action Plan that aims to foster digital skills and competences for all the citizens. LIVAI is a European project that is presented as a pilot that aims to improve the availability of high-quality learning opportunities for adults by creating a digital platform. It offers two fundamental elements: skills & knowledge, along with a certification system that will help to standardize acquired competencies. This represents a significant step towards improving the quality of education of adults.
About LIVAI
Making adult education lively through Artificial Intelligence (LivAI) is an Erasmus + project funded under the action KA220 Cooperation Partnership in Adult Education with a budget of 250.000 euros. Formed by a consortium of 6 entities, among which is the Finnova Foundation, the project will work during 24 months on the important challenges of how technology and data should be approached with form an ethical perspective, within a certification framework that would guarantee standards for any learning and working environment.
LIVAI Roadmap to Attain Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs)
LivAI presents various ways to address technology and data, particularly from an ethical perspective, within a certification framework that ensures standards for any type of learning and work. The project is aligned with the Digital Education Plan, which aims to promote digital skills and competencies for all citizens and explore the impact of education and training through pilot tests. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the ethical digital advancement of the European communities through the piloting of AI educational pathways. More specifically, it will have a positive impact of the following sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UU. NN): Goal 4: Good Health and Well-Being; Goal 4: Quality Education; Goal 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure; Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities.
Opportunities For the Mediterranean:
In the Mediterranean, stakeholders are convinced that regional cooperation on higher education and research plays an essential role in achieving an inclusive and sustainable development in the Mediterranean, especially for the younger generations, as it contributes to increase employability and promote intercultural dialogue. Lifelong learning processes are essential to adapt the rapid growth changes and assure our own personal development. In consequence, Artificial Intelligence represents a huge potential as a source of economic development and can boost scientific research discoveries. In other words, it can enhance the quality of education and research by sharing knowledge and best practices among adults. Finally, it will ensure a new generation of more socially transformative universities, which will also be able to take advantage of existing networks and partnerships within the regional framework of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
